The Scientific Institute of Public Health (IPH)

The Scientific Institute of Public Health (IPH) is a scientific institute of the federal Belgian State. Its main mission is scientific research in view of supporting health policy. It also provides expertise and public service in the field of public health. The IPH plays an important role as part of the Belgian representation whenever scientific and/or technical expertise in the field of public health are needed. They reprent Belgium on the level of the European Union and some international organisations such as the World Health Organisation (WHO), the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) and the Council of Europe.

- The most important unit for inequalities in health-the data and research of the Epidemiology Unit.
- For more specific information, there is the Health Interview Survey in Belgium (conducted in 1997 - 2001 - 2004).
