Cross government
In the Czech Republic, there are several policies in place that address health inequalities. Whole government based policies include:
1. Long-term National Policy for Disabled Citizens 2004 (Governmental decision)
2. National Action Plan on Work Health Safety 2004-2006, 2007 (Governmental decision)
3. Support and Assistance in Material Neediness 2007 (a law describing the system of social and material support)
The Czech Republic has several inter-sectoral relationships across government departments. These are all part of the Office of the Government of the Czech Republic (OGCR).
- The Governmental Council for Human Rights is a permanent intersectorial body, started in 1998, which includes a working group for homosexuals.
- Governmental Council for Minorities
- The Governmental Council for Roma´s Community Affairs has been a permanent intersectorial and consulting body since 1997. It has produced policies for the integration of Roma communitites into society. They also coordinate a grant programme for NGOs who are working on the prevention of social exclusion.
- Governmental Council for NGOs
- The Governmental Commission for Disabled Citizens has been a permanent coordinating, intersectorial and consulting body since 1991. They have produced policies, and coordinate a grant programme which supports public activities for disabled citizens in civil society. These public activities include a mobility programme for the realisation of a barrier free environment in cities and transport infrastructure. The Commission also supports an annual Campaign for Diversity against Discrimination (2004), and maintains a webpage with information for disabled people
